From the official forum:

FC United now begin a run of five matches against teams in the top six of the league.

On Boxing Day, FC United entertain 2nd placed Chorley at Broadhurst Park. Chorley were unbeaten in the league for their first 12 matches of the season. In their last 4 league matches however, they have only picked up 5 points.

On Saturday 29th December, we are at home again, as we welcome 6th placed Spennymoor Town to Moston. In the reverse fixture in August Spennymoor ran out 2-0 winners in Tom Greaves’ last game in charge as FC Manager. In recent matches, Spennymoor have beaten Chorley away, lost to Stockport at home and won 7-1 at Alfreton.

On New Year’s Day we are away to Chorley; the following Saturday 5th January, we welcome Chester to Broadhurst Park for the first time. Chester currently occupy 3rd position having won 7 points from their last 3 matches.

A week later we head to current league leaders Bradford PA who have won 14 points from their last 6 games.

Hola everybody from a balmy, not barmy ;) , Southern Spain.
Still not really used to scoffing Christmas pud wearing shorts n T-shirt, but someone’s got to do it :)
I’ve included today’s programme message from Reno for your consumption.
VAMOS LOS ROJOS

It was fantastic to finally get that weight off our shoulders with our first National League North win here against Curzon Ashton in our last home game.
I’d been very bullish about our chances in the build up to the game, and I did wonder whether I’d perhaps overdone that, but we got off to the best possible start with Josh’s early goal.
We spend a fair bit of time working on set pieces in training, so it’s brilliant for everyone when one comes off like that.
Curzon were obviously out to impress their new manager and they certainly gave us a good game.
That said, I still felt like we were in control of things – even during their good spells of play, I was confident we would win the game.
I suspect some Curzon fans would argue that the sending off changed the game for them. It’s true that they were playing well at the time, but they can’t
have any complaints about the red card.
It was an absolutely shocking tackle. Pottsy missed a full week of training, but we’re all just thankful he wasn’t more seriously hurt.
We reacted well after that, and put the game to bed with our second goal from Kurt. All in all, it’s certainly not the best we’ve played this season, but getting those three points on the board was the key.
We carried that momentum forward into the friendly against Chadderton.
Nobody is going to pretend it’s the biggest challenge we’re going to face, but
it was important we went into the game with the right mindset, and I think we did just that. It was great to see Chris Sharp make an early impact, and there were good performances all over the pitch.
Without the match, we’d have had an additional training session. Whilst more time on the training pitch is always welcome, it’s not the same as playing a match.
It also gave us a chance to raise some much-needed funds for the club, and I’m grateful to Chadderton for providing the opposition.
Today is going to be a very different test against Chorley. They’re flying high at the top of the league and looking very good.
Our club has plenty of history with the Magpies, and whilst this is my first
meeting with them as manager here, I have my own history with them.
In my time at Bamber Bridge, Chorley was always the big derby match when it came up.
I know quite a few of the lads there too; Jonathan Smith and I go all the way back to our days at Darwen together, a long, long time ago!
So far this season, they’ve looked like the full package – tight at the back, whilst scoring plenty up front. They’ve had to really carve out the results over the last few weeks, but the quality they’ve got up at Victory Park is obvious.
There’s no question that this will be our biggest test to date. We’re going to stick to what we do best, and build on that confidence from the last couple of weeks.
We’ve shown what we can do when we’re at our best, and we’re going to need to play to that level today.
I hope you’ve all had a great Christmas, and that you’ll all be in great voice today after yesterday’s festivities!

Feliz Navidad from a cool but sunny Madrid and still recovering from all that festive food and drink.
Lookin' forward to listenin' to some excitin' comenatry from the FCUM Radio team and I'll be serchin' for pics.
Hope you all had a crackin' Christmas and still have somethin' left for the New Year (we also have Reyes on 5th Jan).
Tough opposition today but I'm with Woodso, we can beat anyone in this league if the team play well.
We've got real talent in the team and an ambitious manager (and a hungry fan base) so lets...
BRING ON UNITED!!!
